Day 315

Another rainy day up in the hills, and the extra two and a half months on winter mean that very little is growing, apart from weeds.

Day 288

All prepared for a triumphant return to training on my bike, and it pours down rain and I can't get out. My tyres will have to wait another day to get the new rubbed off them.

Day 244

Oh what a miserable day: raining steadily, with heavy cloud on the mountain. Confined to quarters I am, listening to the rain on the roof and giving thanks that I brought an extra book.

Day 230

What an awful day in Dublin: cold and wet, with sleet as I walked to work this morning. This image captures for me just how grim it was today.

Day 225

A cold wet day in Dublin today, but we were out and about, and seeing as this blog is all about getting out of the car, or getting off the couch, then I'm very happy with this photo

Day 223

Still confined to quarters, still sick, still not enamored of the experience. And to add to the general feel good nature of the day it's raining and it's cold. The only colour on the horizon is this JCB, bravely eating the hillock.

Day 148

Another day working in Dun Laoghaire, but being outside today is a very different prospect to being outside yesterday. Cold, dry and sunny always trumps cold, wet and miserable.

Day 143

A wet night to be working late. Baggot Street can be quite pleasant on nights like this.

Day 135

A cold wet night in Dublin, and I'd enjoy the sinister quality of this picture a lot more if it wasn't the front door to my apartment.

Day 114

I am starting to fear for my blog as we head towards winter. It rains a lot, and it's difficult to find new and interesting ways to photograph the wet. I had an idea for a photo when I left this morning, but circumstances worked against me and I couldn't get it. This is a attempt at that image, but it's not quite there. Rain me hole!

Day 100

There's a long list of reasons for today to be consigned to the dustbin of history: weather, work, traffic, weather again. Sometimes you just have to envy a cat; especially one whose only stress is some eejit trying to take her photograph

Day 93

It started out as a nice day, but it didn't last very long, and by evening it was a day unsuitable for anything other than complaining about the weather. That, and photographing cobwebs. Rest assured, I did both.

Day 88

Back in Kerry, and the rain has been relentless. There's a gutter just outside my office window, and it always spits water out in a messy, undiligent fashion, and now I know why: it's a really crappy botch job. Holes drilled in a gutter do not a drain make.

Day 85

Only partly influenced by my leaving my Leica charger in Kerry I decided on a macro photo today. I'm totally loving my Olloclip, even though the narrow depth of field on the macro lens can be a bit frustrating. I'm not above pouring water on flowers for added effect either.

Day 83

Driving home from Dingle this evening, and it was overcast and threatening rain. A diversion to this small beach I'd never visited before, and it was all windy, and misty, and a bit like a Waterboys song for a time. Definitely worth another visit, only I'll wait for a sunny day.

Day 76

Between Abbeyfeale  and Newcastlewest there's a windfarm, and whilst the access from the main road is restricted, there is a back road that brings you right up amongst the windmills. It was overcast when I got there, and most of the windmills were obscured by clouds, but as I walked back along the track the sun poked through, and there was a big wide landscape to be had. Incidentally, it was not a day for walking through a marsh in leaky Converse Allstars!

Day 74

I moved in to a new house in Dingle today: holiday homes right in the centre of town. But I'm glad I'm not on holiday, because it is wet, very wet. These poor chairs don't stand a chance of seeing any action at this rate.

Day 72

One of those days where the weather changes from hour to hour, from glorious and sunny to cold and rainy. I'd set out to find a shot, but I wasn't too hopeful, and then I rounded a corner, and there was a gap in the rain clouds and a shimmer on the sea. The next five minutes was a race against time to find a good vantage point with convenient parking, and just as soon as I'd gotten this shot the light was gone and the rain was back.

Day 71

These flowers grow everywhere, they're like lovely colourful weeds. Oh, and it's raining again.
