Day 361
Another unscheduled day off today, so I took advantage of the beautiful weather and drove down to Wicklow to see the lighthouse. It was built in 1781 and it's no longer a functioning lighthouse: in fact it's available to rent for holidaymakers, and you have to ignore a lot of "private property" signs to reach it, but it is spectacular.

Day 360
I'm very happy with this shot: I knew as soon as I took it that I liked it, and that it would make a good blog pic. And that's just as well, because the shot I took half an hour later was much better, but when I got home I realised it had been ruined by three drops of rain on the lens. So, ferns it is, and a valuable lesson about lens cleaning

Day 359
The weather has lost its mind! Blue skies in the west but I took this in the pouring rain. The dome of the St Stephen's Green centre looks good in silhouette.

Day 338
Spring is in the air, birds are singing, bees are trying to have sex with them, and above all the sun is shining and the weather is sweet.

Day 333
I've seen this image on a few occasions, but today was the first opportunity I had to stop and capture it: the Luas bridge at Charlemont.

Day 332
My first time cycling from town to Dun Laoghaire in a long time, and the first time I noticed this sculpture. Just the thing for the post-work blues!

Day 319
At the top of the stairs in the building I'm working in there is a small window, and on the rare occasions that the sun shines it sends a tight sharp beam of light down the stairs and in to the hall. It's a lot like Newgrange, only without the history and magic, and in Dun Laoghaire.

Day 316
It's not raining today, and the sun is out intermittently, so if it were spring there'd be flowers bursting to life everywhere. However, as previously noted, the winter has lasted for an extra ten weeks, so the only things in bloom are hardy little weeds.

Day 305
I was a bit disappointed with my results today: I thought I'd nailed a couple of shots, but when I looked at them critically they weren't really at the races. I was pleased with this one though. I used a 4ND filter to allow a slower shutter speed in order to smooth out the water. I decided to change it to monochrome as I felt it worked better: the colour version still felt a little banal.

Day 283
With the computer working away merrily without me I was able to nip out for half an hour to get a shot looking out to the Atlantic before the light was gone. This is a shot I've tried a few times, but only today did I get it right. Nothing but sea and sky, and the clouds played a blinder!

Day 282
Very cold today in Kerry, so what better time to go for a walk down the marina with no gloves?!The weather was very odd today, as evidenced by this photo: sunny on one side and snowing on the other.

Day 273
Another beautiful day in Dingle, but all I saw of it was through these blinds as I was working all day.

Day 257
A lovely sunny start to the day, and I took a wander around the retail park across the road from me. I was looking for a different view of Three Rock, but I couldn't find a good one. I did however find this image, in a small flood on an abandoned section of the development. By now you've probably realised that I like water and reflections.

Day 249
This shot is exactly as shot: shooting in to the sun, with only a polariser on the lense, and I'm thrilled with this result.
