Portugal part 2

My last evening in Cascais, and it's getting a bit cloudy, but as we all know that makes for a more dramatic sky. This is the sun setting behind the house of Jorge O'Neill.

I've seen this image on a few occasions, but today was the first opportunity I had to stop and capture it: the Luas bridge at Charlemont.

Evening in Dun Laoghaire harbour. For a change I understated the saturation, and it gave the water a hue and shimmer that I really like.

Late leaving work today, but thankfully there's a grand stretch in the evening, so I was able to take this view of Dun Laoghaire marine before I headed for home.

Day 300

It's been an eventful 300 days: lots of diversions, new ways home, laneways explored, and I've seen a lot more of the city and country than I'd expected. This evening was no different, as I came in to the city from Dun Laoghaire a different way, and I saw the Aviva from this side for the first time. I was very lucky too, as the sun came out in time to give me this image.

Day 299

I was determined that today's photo wouldn't be a landscape, and my intention to photograph something snow based was scuppered by the absence of snow. Luckily I saw, and was quite taken with, this sculpture in front of an office building.

Day 298

Another snowy day, and the day I found out how truly difficult it is to photograph snow well. As I made my way home, resigned to using an iPhone shot today, the sun started to come out from behind the snow clouds, and I went down Dun Laoghaire pier to get a shot of the sunset back over Sandymount. The day was saved.

Long day at work today, so I never got out to look for a shot. It worked out well though, as this is the view from my edit suite.

Another day of sporadically beautiful weather in Dingle. After work I hopped in the car and headed west to catch the sunset. I was out of luck for an actual red disc moment, but I'm pretty happy with the result nonetheless.

First day in Kerry this year, and for a while this evening it was a beautiful evening.

Beautiful day in Dublin, and almost at the last minute I made it in to Trinity to catch the last rays of sunset hitting the Campanile. I'd tryed a couple of times to get this sort of shot, so I was relieved to finally be successful.

Miserable day in Dingle today, but just at the death these rather interesting clouds made their appearance.

My affection for Westland Row yields another image: this time from behind. The sky turned an amazing colour just as the sun was setting, and I loved the silhouettes, and the two tone picture that the resulted.

I found my autumn! The sun was (in and) out this evening, and the leaves were yellow and red and golden. I first found autumn on Raglan Road (where else), but this picture was taken just near Herbert Park. Fifteen minutes later the sun was gone and normal grey was resumed.

To be totally honest I just thought these clouds were quite cool.

An unexpectedly beautiful sunset this evening, given all the rain that fell today. As I was heading home the sun was hitting the red bricks of Fitzwilliam Square, and it looked amazing!

Arrived in Sardinia today for first proper time off since January. I've been a bit worried over how this blog would work whilst here, but camera phone seems the way forward. This is the view from our hotel: it's sunset over Capo Caccia.

In a lot of ways this is quite a pedestrian image, but in a lot of ways it's an awesome one. This is because it's the view from my balcony at home in Dublin, and although it was nice to be in Dingle for two months, it's nicer to be home!

Last night in Dingle tonight, so I drove out towards Slea Head to get a shot of the sunset. As always the weather in Dingle can make an idiot of you, but the sun did manage to poke through enough to get a bit of colour into this shot. That's it, bye bye Dingle!
