Day 359
The weather has lost its mind! Blue skies in the west but I took this in the pouring rain. The dome of the St Stephen's Green centre looks good in silhouette.

Day 341
A different version of dark skies over the power station, and the addition of a lomo filter in post.

Day 329
A trip to Phoenix Park today, and I used the opportunity to take some mediocre pictures of deer. Luckily I got this option on the way home.

Day 327
Evening in Dun Laoghaire harbour. For a change I understated the saturation, and it gave the water a hue and shimmer that I really like.

Day 321
Flushed with the success of yesterday I brought my 7D with the macro lens to work again, and it paid off. Distracted by a flash of colour out of the corner of my eye I ended up beside these primroses, growing out of a concrete block with absolutely no regard for the miserable weather we've had until recently.

Day 316
It's not raining today, and the sun is out intermittently, so if it were spring there'd be flowers bursting to life everywhere. However, as previously noted, the winter has lasted for an extra ten weeks, so the only things in bloom are hardy little weeds.

Day 313
As soon as I felt that the end was in sight, this project started to feel difficult. There's been difficult days all along, but today I was stuck in an office with some atrocious weather outside, and I despaired of what I would shoot. Just as I was preparing to leave work I noticed that the sky had gotten incredibly dark. I looked out the window, and what do you know: refraction to the rescue!

Day 305
I was a bit disappointed with my results today: I thought I'd nailed a couple of shots, but when I looked at them critically they weren't really at the races. I was pleased with this one though. I used a 4ND filter to allow a slower shutter speed in order to smooth out the water. I decided to change it to monochrome as I felt it worked better: the colour version still felt a little banal.

Day 302
Twenty four hours working followed by three hours sleep, and the only thought I had of finding a photograph involved taking a picture of something in the car and claiming it was inspired by exhaustion. Luckily I managed to shake off this funk, and left the motorway in the midlands in search of an image, with brooding and silhouetted results.

Day 297
It was cold, so I put on my gloves as I left the office to take a few shots. It wasn't snowing though, so I didn't bring my jacket, and that was my undoing, because three minutes later the snow was pelting down as I was forced to retreat back to work.

Day 296
A very flat cloudy day, but at least it wasn't raining. I was here last week, but my shots with the tower didn't pan out. Today the tide was a bit further out, so I was able to get a better vantage point.

Day 293
What weather we have had today: torrential rain, gale force winds, cold, miserable, everything bad! Too wet to bring my Canon to work, which was a pity really, because it was a day made for long exposures down at the sea. Nevertheless the Leica was up to the job. There wasn't much colour on display when I was taking this, so it got some treatment in post, but only to emphasise what was already there.

Day 290
I started work in Dun Laoghaire today, and to celebrate I cycled to work through the freezing cold and the snow. When I arrived the snow was clearing, and the sun was just hitting Pigeon House. The blue sky was misleading though, as it continued to snow and rain all day.

Day 288
All prepared for a triumphant return to training on my bike, and it pours down rain and I can't get out. My tyres will have to wait another day to get the new rubbed off them.

Day 285
Pretty much housebound today: tiredness, apathy and bad weather all conspired against me. Sometimes your only hope is whimsy!

Day 283
With the computer working away merrily without me I was able to nip out for half an hour to get a shot looking out to the Atlantic before the light was gone. This is a shot I've tried a few times, but only today did I get it right. Nothing but sea and sky, and the clouds played a blinder!

Day 282
Very cold today in Kerry, so what better time to go for a walk down the marina with no gloves?!The weather was very odd today, as evidenced by this photo: sunny on one side and snowing on the other.

Day 275
I went back to Ventry Beach today: the water was like glass, and even tough the day was flat and very overcast, the pier was reflected in the water, and the fisherman was standing very still, thus enabling a longer exposure.
